sentimental moment or why did you let me eat so much?
I’ll be there when your voice trails off and you’re 2000 miles away and there is nothing that can truly replace the silence. I’ll be there when you look up with hope. When you caress and rub my thumb or when your face gets hot with anger. I’ll be there when you complain Ow! My tummy hurts Why did you let me eat so much? or Ow! My feet hurt But oh man these red shoes look so good with my outfit! I’ll be there when it’s 2am and all we can think about is What if? What now? Why me? I’ll be there when you scratch your mosquito bites red and I can only shake my head for the umpteenth time. When the apple pie crust falls off and the sugar refuses to caramelize but still the filling is so good. I’ll be there when you cough and shout and laugh and scream and jump because the music is loud on a Friday night and nothing is better or more important than the here and the now not necessarily the why or the how.
